First Visit

On your first visit, your dentist will review your medical history and conduct a dental exam. The dental exam includes: 

Checking vital signs:

Your dentist will take your blood pressure and heart rate, check your pulse, and listen to your breathing.

X-rays:

This imaging tool allows your dentist to see areas below the gum line that cannot be seen during a visual exam. Your dentist will use this information to identify any infection below the gum line.

Examination

: Your dentist will inspect your teeth for signs of decay, damage, or gum disease. They will also check your gums for signs of infection or gum disease.

Research:

Depending on your dentist’s practice, they may ask for your dental records before your appointment. This allows your dentist to review your dental history, including your history of dental work.

Cleaning:

We will also clean your teeth. 

Financing Options

: We will discuss all costs and insurance coverage before we begin any treatment.

IMPORTANT

: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Please let us know if you have any medical conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves, joints, rheumatic fever, etc., before the treatment or if you are currently taking any medication like heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.

New Patients

We would like to thank you for visiting the Daryn T. Nishikawa, DDS website! We want your first visit to be comfortable and acknowledge your needs. 

When you come to our office as a new patient, we will first use our new patient forms to gather information such as your dental history, your insurance coverage, and your medical history. We will also perform an oral cancer screening and take x-rays of your teeth.

Complete the New Patient Form before making a visit to the practice. This will help in saving your time!
